I have maintained a consistent workout regimen doing CrossFit/Functional Fitness for the past 6 years. 

Out of those 6 years, I have been pregnant 6 times, 3 pregnancies resulting in miscarriages, and 3 resulting in full term vaginal births. 

Every single pregnancy and every single postpartum moment has been different for me.

But, there was one constant. 

I was CONSTANTLY searching the internet for answers. 

“Should I continue this exercise?”
“Can I lift the barbell over my head?”
“Is it okay if my heart rate goes over 140 BPM?”

And there was never any clear cut answer. 

The majority of what I found was, listen to your body. Your body will tell you when enough is enough. 

I have come to find out, that is not entirely true.

Yes, you have days you feel good and you could lift a car. And then you have days where you feel like shit and you can’t lift a pen. I get it. I’ve been there. 


Are you aware that even on days that you feel good, you could be doing too much? 

What happens if you do too much? 

You can injure yourself. 

Even if you feel good, you can injure yourself. 

Common injuries to the pregnant and postpartum women are:

Diastatis recti
Incontenience
Pelvic Organ Prolapse
Generalized Pelvic Pain

I have a goal. BUT I also want to know YOUR goal! Talking to me about what goals you want during pregnancy and postpartum are so important and essential. I want to listen to you. 

I want to help you continue doing what you love whether that be functional fitness, going to the gym by yourself, working out at home, running, yoga, whatever capacity you are comfortable with, I can help. 

If you want to do something bad enough, you will do it, with or without my help. I will NEVER tell you not to do something. I, do, however, want to educate you on what could happen if you don’t take the necessary precautions.
