Week 36 of pregnancy 6

This week I was having my last ultrasound of my pregnancy.

I was praying she was going to be a good size and they wouldn’t give me any grief for her being too big and suggest a C-Section.

I was really excited to see what she looked like this late in my pregnancy. Prior to this pregnancy, the latest I had ever had an ultrasound was 20 weeks. At this point, I knew she would look like a real baby.

In contrast to my 32 week ultrasound, she cooperated this time. She showed her face several times. The ultrasound tech spent a lot of time around her face and she was opening and closing her eyes, she stuck her tongue out, it was amazing. I can’t wait to see what she looks like.

She proceeded to take all the measurements and when she measured her head, it was measuring at 40 weeks.

My vagina does not enjoy this measurement.

Everything else measured as it should. All fluid levels seemed to be okay. Based on the measurements she took, Jolee was measuring at 6lbs 11ozs plus or minus 1 pound. Plus or minus 1 pound is a huge difference. I don’t even know how they can give that type of measurement. She measured in the 72nd percentile. Thankfully, that meant no talk of C-Section.

After my ultrasound, I got to see the doctor. At 36 weeks, she will start to check my cervix for dilation and effacement. I think this is pointless as well because it can get your hopes up that labor is going to happen quicker than you expect if you are dilated. I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced, which really doesn’t mean anything, in my opinion.

With Raelynn, I think I was 2cm for a couple of weeks before I went into labor. With Briar, I wasn’t really anything until I went into labor. I went from 0-10 in about 5-6 hours.

I also spontaneously went into labor 2 weeks early with the both of them.

Briar was born at 38 week and 2 days, and Raelynn was born at 38 weeks and 3 days. I was not expecting it with Raelynn or Briar. With Jolee, I feel like that’s all I can think about. I feel like there is no way possible that I will go 2 weeks early with her. That would be too much of a coincidence. I feel like if I have the expectation that I will go 2 weeks early, I will just be very disappointed when it doesn’t happen.

This week I have also been sick and it sucks. It’s just typical allergies, nothing crazy, but I basically refuse to take medicine in pregnancy, and sometimes the all natural path just doesn’t work. I have been congested and I’ve had a terrible cough. I’m hoping it passes soon.
