Pregnancy Week 9

Pregnancy Week 9

I am continuing to feel progressively better which is nice, but also worrisome because I instantly think it’s going to be a miscarriage. I find myself having more energy, but still having food aversions.

Chicken has been the worst food aversion.

I used to eat it every single day. Now the thought, the smell, the sight of it makes me want to vomit. I have been struggling to find something constant to eat every day. One day something may taste perfectly fine, and then the next, I want nothing to do with it.

My body is really starting to feel the effects of not taking in enough protein. The Thursday WOD was terrible. Even though there was rest built in, I had to rest so so so much. It sucked.

While I say I have more energy, I am still struggling to meal prep. It’s more so that we are completely consumed with activities every single freaking weekend. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, but it just comes to a point where it is too much. That’s where we are right now.

And everyone knows how the week nights are after you get off work. Balls to the wall, playing with your child, cooking dinner, bathing your child, putting your child to sleep, then, for me at least right now, whenever I finally sit down, I’m done.

Do not expect me to lift a finger for the rest of the night because I am literally done.

On the 4th of July, we finally started to tell some family that we were pregnant. We told Scott’s parents, grandparents, and siblings. They were all happy, but they knew where my mind was, and honestly, I think they worry about something going wrong, too, just because of my history. But, overall happy.

CrossFit First Trimester

I had a really bad attitude about CrossFit last week after going to the doctor. I just hate being limited. But, I’m still pressing on.

Tuesday, July 5

15 Pullups

If there is any running, I now row.

I was able to do the front squats at 75#.

I did modified pull-ups since I can’t jump up to the bar anymore. This one really broke my heart; because I literally just got kipping pull ups about 3 months ago so I love practicing them. I guess I will work on strict now.

This one was so much worse than what I imagined. Took me 19:06 to finish. Total suck workout.

Friday, July 8

Strength
Hang Snatch + Full Snatch complex
2 at 60% of Snatch Max
2 at 70% of Snatch Max
3×2 at 75% of Snatch Max

I absolutely hated this day. I was not feeling it at all.

Snatches are my absolute weakness. I am terrible at them, therefore I hate them. It’s just such a complex movement and I can’t seem to get it down. Even after a year of doing CrossFit.

Normally, when I do snatches, from hang or power position, I have to do a HUGE jump to even get close to getting under the bar. Clearly, that is not going to happen for the time being. I can’t jump at all. So, I just used the bar. Yes, I worked on my form, but there is only so much you can do with a bar. I didn’t’ necessarily feel like I was actually doing a strength workout.

It was definitely my pride getting in the way of this workout.

WOD
21, 15, 9
Snatches #95/65
Cal Row

I only used the bar for the snatches. I finished in 8:31.
