Week 5 of Pregnancy 4

Pregnancy Week 5

Week 5 has been completely different than week 4.

Big time not feeling good.

Never to the point where I feel like I’m going to get sick, but definitely nauseous.  My boobs are super achy and feel huge. Still extremely tired. A couple of nights, I didn’t sleep very well. Also already had to get up a pee a couple of times during the middle of the night, but I think the progesterone is to blame for that.

I think the progesterone is to blame for a lot of the things I’m feeling. I ended up looking into it a little more and I am having all sorts of side effects from it. Bloat, frequent urination, headache, breast discomfort. To me, it just feels like first trimester symptoms but extremely intensified.

I didn’t really feel great all week, and then on Friday, I felt really good.

My first thought, here we go again. I’m going to have another miscarriage.

I honestly had not been thinking about miscarrying at all with this pregnancy. Now, I can’t stop thinking about it. I am such a “comparer”. I compare to what I know.

My first pregnancy with the twins, I stopped having symptoms around 6 weeks which is when they stopped growing. So, I instantly think it’s going to be the same scenario. It really fucking sucks.

I wish my mind did not function like this.

I will be so happy when we go for the scan during week 8. From the day I’m writing this, only 18 more days. I’m just ready to know. I thought I would be okay with it being this month, but I’m constantly wishing it was sooner. I’m just so scared. I’m not even happy anymore.

CrossFit First Trimester

CrossFit was different this week as well. I made it to the gym 4 times this week. I found myself tiring out really easy and being short of breath really quickly.

I also did not feel good all week, even at the gym, except for Friday. My coach even told me one day that I looked out of it. I just wasn’t with it this week. I made it a point to slow down and back off the weight if it didn’t feel good.

I am slowly figuring out that it’s really going to be harder on me than I imagined not going as hard as I want or lifting as much as I want. I did not RX every workout this week.

ROMWod
The Weight of the World

WOD
15min AMRAP
10 Tire Flips
20 Double Unders
30 Situps

This is the day I started feeling blah in the gym. For the strength, we did a ROMWOD and it’s basically just yoga and stretching. As soon as it was over and I got up, I was dizzy. That was different.

This was also the day that I found myself very out of breath and dizzy. The up and down motion of the tire flips, I think, made me dizzy.

The double unders had me really short of breath. I am not a pro at the double unders, I cannot do the consecutively. I do a double under, then a single or two, and then another double under.

I was cautious, at first, with the situps. I cannot seem to find a consensus on if situps are okay at all during pregnancy or, if you can do them do a certain point. All of the blogs I’ve read, it’s literally 50/50. Some mom’s cut them out completely and some do them up until their second or even their third trimester.

Since I was only 5 weeks, I figured I would give it a go. They felt fine. My abs were sore the next day and even worse the second day, but I didn’t feel as though I hurt anything or harmed anything. It was just the normal sore feeling. For me, personally, I don’t that I will continue them very long. The thought of diastasis recti really scares the shit out of me.

Wednesday, June 8

Strength
Front Squat
10 @ 60%
6 @ 70%
4×4 @ 80%

WOD
8 min AMRAP
5 Power Snatches
10 OH Snatch Grip Walking Lunges
5 Burpees over the bar
#95/65

Today felt terrible.

I was not feeling front squats at all. They did not hurt, it just felt really heavy.

I bitched out on my last set of 4 so I only did 3×4.

65# was the prescribed weight for the WOD and I just could not do it. I just wasn’t feeling up for it. I opted for 55#.

AMRAPS are slowly becoming my favorite. Fuck some for time workouts. I ain’t about that life right now.

For the burpees, I did not slam into the group and do them as fast as I could. I slowly got on the ground and slowly got back up. There was nothing forceful about them.

Friday, June 10

Strength
Weighted Box Step Up’s on 20 inch box – AHAP – using barbell being the neck

WOD
2 rounds for reps
2 min pullups
Rest 1 min
2 min Curtis P’s
Rest 1 min
2 min cal row
Rest 1 min
75#/55#

I was feeling pretty good today. Kept it light on the step ups. I only used the barbell, I did not add any weight. My glutes and hammys are on fiiiyyaaaa.

The WOD felt really good. I liked the rest in between. I took lots of water breaks. Another iffy movement today were the pullups. I did kipping pullups during the workout. They felt pretty good.

This is another movement that I cannot find clear cut information on. Some say stop immediately and do strict or go to ring rows and some do throughout. I honestly, can’t see myself going any longer than the first trimester. Obviously as I get heavier, they will get harder, too. We will see. I’ll take it day by day.
